Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch County Park 5/4/24

In May, the scouts embarked on a 10-mile hike at Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch, the designated make-up hike for the hiking merit badge. The day started early, and the scouts were ready to start despite the weather forecasts predicting less-than-ideal conditions. The path constantly changed, with some sections climbing steadily uphill, while others descended. Midway through the hike, the trail became more difficult to follow as it was overgrown with thick plants and weeds. The weather had been foggy from the start, but soon the pouring rain started making it a challenge to continue. However, the scouts were well-prepared. They had come equipped with rain gear ensuring that they stayed as dry as possible under the circumstances. At long last, the scouts reached the end of the trail, tired but accomplished. Despite the mud, the rain, and the overgrown trails, everyone had finished the hike
