April 24th Hike - Cowell-Purisima Trail

On April 24th, several members of our troop went on a 10-mile hike at the Cowell-Purisima Trail. The trail was flat, unlike all our other hikes, which made it easier to walk. Because it was located near the coast, there was a lot of fog and it was cold until the end of the hike. The trail was scenic and beautiful overall. There were many different types of flowers and other plants growing around the path and we had a direct view of the beach from the trail. About 2/3 of the way in, there was a beach that we spent a lot of time at, collecting seashells and going close to the water [even though it was extremely cold]. One of the things that we could have improved on is the amount of time we spent. Even though it was a flat trail, we took the same amount of time as we would have on a steeper trail of the same length. Overall, it was a great hike that we all enjoyed.
