We had a great hike with 14 scouts and 8 adults in the Sunol Wilderness, East Bay. The 10-mile trail was a bit tough because of the rocks at the start, but it got easier later on. It was mostly uphill. We did a bunch of loops, and the weather went from cloudy to sunny. As we walked up, there were green hills, big oak trees, and the sound of water in the background.
The rocky part at first was hard, but we kept going, stopping now and then to look at the cool views. We saw turkey's and squirrels! The weather helped a bit too, it was cool at the beginning, which made it easier to hike before it got hot in the afternoon. When we got to the top, the view of the valley was amazing! We could see the waterfall on the bottom.
It felt great to have made it to the waterfall so we rested and dipped our feet in the water. Going down was easy, and we could enjoy the view without working so hard. By the time we got back to the start, we were tired but happy after a tough but awesome walk in one of the East Bay's nicest places.
