On January 18th, Troop 2123 started off the year with rock climbing! We rock climbed for one and a half hours at The Peak of Fremont. Eight scouts decided to participate in this outing and most came on time. The worker explained to us which walls we could climb on and how to safely come back to the ground once we had reached our desired height/distance. Then, as the scouts got excited to climb, they strapped on their gear, chalked up their hands, and gave it a try. Though most scouts completed some walls only half way, many made bets on who could reach the top first. Though most of us were scared at first, we worked our way through to the harder walls and some of us even won some bets. This was surely a good bonding time for the new scouts to connect with some of the previously joined members of the troop since this was one of the first outings of the year. Overall, we had a nice time rock climbing and having fun together!
