By: Anshika J. During the 20-mile hike, I remember all of us Scouts struggling, myself included. It was probably one of the hardest and longest hikes I’ve ever done, but every step was worth it in the end. The trail tested my endurance in ways I hadn’t expected, and my feet were so sore they hurt for at least three days afterward. Still, there was something rewarding about pushing through together, knowing we were all experiencing the same challenge side by side.
Along the way, we came across plenty of wildlife—goats perched on rocky hillsides and all sorts of bugs I’d never seen before. Those small moments made the hike feel more alive, even when it was exhausting. Looking back, I don’t think I’d want to take on another hike of that distance anytime soon, but the experience itself was unforgettable. It was tough, it was fun, and it’s a memory I’ll always carry with me.
