Arriving at the campsite, the scouts saw many animals, including boars, cows, deer, turkeys, and other birds. The deer were all around the camp and there were a lot of them. We immediately started making lunch as it was late and all the scouts were hungry. There were only 5 scouts on this outing, so food preparation did not take too much time. We started setting up tents and preparing for the cold night ahead.
Since we did not have a hike planned for the afternoon, scouts spent their time playing with a football on the field next to the campsite. The weather was a bit chilly but sunny. For dinner, all of the scouts worked together to make delicious alfredo pasta with garlic bread. After dinner, the scouts made smores and did some skits by the campfire. Everybody went into their tents and prepared for a very cold night.
The next morning, the scouts went on a hike to Mummy Mountain. Although the hike was steep, it was only 5 miles and sported amazing views of Gilroy. It was very hot during the hike, but everyone stayed hydrated and made it through. Once we got back to the campsite, accounts grabbed their bags from the packline and started heading home.
